Brandon Vella, Photographer

A camera, as it turns out, is a pretty delicate thing to put in a plane’s overhead compartment. It’s not the easiest to accommodate, either, in particularly hot or cold or wet environments, or those that require an adapter to plug into their power grid. And it’s certainly the heaviest single piece of gear (let alone kit) I’ve had to carry while backpacking.

So why do I bother?

Because I’ve learned that photography is the best way to share experiences with the people I care about and serves as a great way to extend the life and emotions of those experiences for months and years down the road.

I’ve taken my camera with me near and far - from The Green Belt of Austin, Texas, to the coastline of Big Sur, California, and most recently to the mountains of Nepal. I’ve learned to compose and expose to capture and emphasize the many inspiring and life-lesson-teaching situations I’ve found myself in and am constantly seeking opportunities to help capture, preserve, and share others’ experiences as well.

In addition to travel and landscape photography, I also have experience in brand, engagement, portrait and event photography. These have proven to be great opportunities for creative collaboration and I’m always looking for more!
